Unreal. That is the only word I have been telling people who have asked me how New York was ever since I've been back. There is literally no other word that can possibly describe my experience. From the food to the fashion, the architecture and art, the people and the pace, I loved everything about New York. It was the experience of a lifetime, and to think I was there for two weeks for a CLASS. Easily, the best 3 credits I have and will ever take in my entire life. One thing I really realized on my trip was that Fashion is very definitive in New York, more than I thought it would be. I mean, I always knew New York was the fashion capital of the USA, but I always thought that merely living in Los Angeles would be enough for me. And that is definitely no longer the case. I think, personally, that if I even want to begin getting into the industry, I need to start in New York. It's definitely a huge leap, but one I may (or may not be) willing to take. I bought Wi-Fi on my flight back (the first time I ever have I might add) and immediately looked into a bunch of internships at fashion houses and agencies and sent out tons of emails. I've learned that there are so many people trying to get into every single industry you are trying to get into, so you have to do something to stand out. I mean, I know blogging is probably the least creative thing anymore, but hey, it's a start. It's a way for people to hear from the ramblings that happen in my mind, and to see your personal style. Whether that be through words, fashion, photographs, quotes, you name it! So New York, you really have inspired me. I aim to start blogging once more, and I don't even want to start a whole new blog over since 1. I'm a little too lazy, and 2. I don't mind my old posts, even though the gaps in between posts is massive.
So now I'll continue this post with some photos I took from my trip. It will include my favorite spots, outfits, food, and everything else I love about New York!
Coat: American Apparel, Denim Jacket: Levi's, Wool Scarf: Lululemon, Sweater: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Jeans: 7 For All Mankind, Boots: Frye, Beanie: Artizia, Bag: Burberry
This is one of my favorite outfits from the trip. We actually went on a bus tour this day all around Manhattan, kinda boring, but kinda cool. We walked around Greenwich Village and Washington Square Park, and this photo was taken on the street where the apartment from Friends is located! I thought this street looked quite quant and knew it would be the perfect backdrop for a photoshoot.
Coat: American Apparel, Military Jacket: Artizia, Sweater: Urban Outfitters, Scarf: Burberry, Jeans: 7 For All Mankind, Boots: Frye, Bag: Burberry
I could not have been more obsessed with Central Park than I was. Like, let's take a look at that bubble. That was probably the highlight of my day, and it doesn't look too bad in photos huh? By the way, my friend Cami took all of these photos of me! This outfit was perfect for the weather that day. It was the first day we saw sun so it was the perfect amount of layers to walk around, and when I took off my coat I didn't feel underdressed.
I don't want to bombard you guys with outfits... and I'm still waiting on some photos of other ones, so maybe I'll do a NY part 2 or something like that. But I was asked by some friends visiting at the same time what places to stop by, and here is my list of things you NEED to do or see while in New York:
- Todd English at The Plaza Food Hall
- Max Brenner
- STK - Meatpacking district
- The High Line
- The Chelsea Market
- Sleep No More
- Chobani Yogurt Bar
- Dylan's Candy Bar
- Bergdorf Goodman
- Ralph Lauren on Madison Ave
- Ladurée on Madison Ave.
- The Met
- Shopping in the Meatpacking District (Scoop, Alexander McQueen, All Saints, Owen, etc.)
- Top of the Rockefeller Center
And there's New York for ya! I'm not sure if I want to post more photos from my trip on here, since I'm sure most of my readers have already seen them all...I mean, dozens of people came up to me and either told me 1. "Oh my gosh I loooooved your Instagrams! I totally stalked you!" or 2. "I was so happy when they were over." K, cool. Well New York, you have my heart. And trust me, I'll be back for it soon.
