There's just something about driving down streets lined with palm trees that just feels *so* LA. It's like the epitome of Beverly Hills. I used to think seeing so many palm tree photos on Instagram was so basic, but after seeing and taking photos of them, I have a new-found obsession. There is one street in particular, that just so happens to be a block away from my apartment, that is lined with palm trees. I will be honest and say there have been multiple occasions where I've gotten out of my car just to take a pic. Today was one of those days.
I dragged my roommate, Priscillia, out today to take some photos of me since I'm serious about blogging more being my New Year's Resolution. We didn't have to go far to get these photos (0.3 miles to be exact) and I love how they turned out.
This blog hasn't seen that many black outfits (if I remember correctly) which is funny since I'm basically always wearing something black. It's always a joke at work when we are trying to figure out what we're wearing to dinner that my boss will just say "Black." I usually feel too somber if I leave my apartment in literal all black, so I try to add a jacket or undershirt that's of a different, yet darker hue. Thus the olive undershirt and denim jacket.
I don't think I've blogged about this denim jacket yet, but it's one of my favorite pieces. I bought it over the summer, after much back and forth with whether to not I should purchase it. I knew I loved it, I just wanted to make sure I would get my wear out of it, and I'm pretty sure I have. It's one of the pieces from Diesel's first collection under new creative director Nicola Formichetti. Not only do I love the wash, but the patches as well. Colton Haynes was also wearing it in the first advertisements for the collection, and being one of my style icons, I knew I had to have it.
I just bought the sweater this past weekend from Sandro at Bloomingdale's and when I saw it, I had to have it. Not only do I not have enough black sweaters, but I love the zipper detailing, so naturally it had to be mine. Now if only LA would get a little cold so I can actually wear it... I hope you guys like this look as much as I do!
